Ma Maison…the Breakfast Room

Last week, I took you for a tour through my den. Just off the den and kitchen is the breakfast room. The breakfast room is where J & I usually eat our meals if we do not use the snack bar in the kitchen.
Now for your tour of my breakfast room…
2
The center of the breakfast room features a table covered in burlap from Ballard Designs & green apple toile fabric from Aux Belles Choses. The wooden rusch seat chairs are from The Plantation Shop in Amelia Island. The oyster bowl is a Christmas gift by J from Oysteria.
3
On the rear wall is a former TV armoire turned into a dry bar which is very useful for entertaining and storage of various bar necessities.
7
Check out the bar transformations:
Atop the bar is a collection of various glass cloches collected from antique malls and specialty shops from here to Atlanta. The clock is from Ballard Designs circa 2004.
8
The wall features jarboe sconces from now closed, Nest, a fave in Atlanta.
7
The wall also houses my vast collection of menus from Commander’s Palace. Each menu serves as a momento of a special occasion at one of our favorite New Orleans institutions. I had them framed a couple years ago as a Christmas present for J. Atop the framed menus are two original paintings by local artist Martin Welch. Martin Welch: Click here!

Two antique chairs are covered in coral cascade fabric from Lewis & Sheron in Atlanta.
12
Along the sliding glass door wall is an antique cabinet house my collection of antler handled utensils-some real, some faux. On the top of the cabinet are three crystal decanters and a brass & crystal lamp from Hill Street Warehouse.

5
Atop the cabinet is a chalkboard from Pottery Barn which displays menus, messages, and various seasonal sayings.
A George Rodrigue signed Jolie Blonde print rests on the the same wall. The print is a gift I received from a family friend when I was in college and have cherished for many years.
10
The rug is another sisal bordered in brown fabric.
I hope you have enjoyed this tour of my breakfast room.

  3. What a fun tour! I love the wall of menus - I spent my 50th birthday at Commander's Palace in NOLA. We have, also, eaten at the one in Destin, although, I am not sure that one is still open. Thanks for sharing - I am like Ginger and looking forward to the rest of the tour!
