Remembering 9.11

It is hard to believe that 11 years have passed since the tragedy that unfolded on 09.11.01.

9-11

I had just moved that summer to Atlanta and had started part-time work with the zac team, a Real Estate Company in Atlanta where J was a successful agent at the time. I was not certain if I would get back into teaching or not, so I settled for a job there in the meantime.

I had just picked up Starbucks coffee and settled into the office when I heard the news from a co-worker. This was my second day on the job. Everyone stopped what they were doing and eyes were glued to the TV all day long.

911

I will never forget that day.

Where were you?

Please remember the brave men and women who sacrificed much that day. They are forever in our hearts and in our prayers.

Remember 9.11, y’all!

  1. I was in my office at 1309 Canal Blvd. - 2nd floor of the Stark Municipal Complex. Saw it live on TV. Had a "bored" meeting that afternoon. Tony Centenni was the chairman at the time.

  2. I was in Atlanta at my job. We heard the news and were glued to the TV also. We went outside around noon and it was so eerily quiet! I worked near the airport which was closed down and it felt like the whole world had stopped. I'll never forget.

  3. I was watching the Today Show -- saw the second plkane hit the towers. Pepper was supposed to go to the Pentagon later in the week. None of us will ever forget that day, or the effect it had on our lives -- http://moogiep.blogspot.com/2010/09/remembrance-and-reflection.html

  5. It was 2nd period, and I was in the teacher's lounge. The TV was on, and I saw the first tower on fire, and then a few minutes later, I saw the second plane hit the other tower. For the rest of the day, I kept the TV on in the classroom. British Lit was not on the lesson plan that day. I will never forget that day.
