Hold it! Stop! I would never show you Christmas before Thanksgiving, but I was super excited to receive my annual magnolia garlands for the parlor mantle and stair parlor staircase. Gene and Steve of Ambrose Gardens are my source for such lush and lovely garlands.
I love the lushness of magnolia leaves. The upper surface of a southern magnolia leaf is a glossy shade of dark green, but the leaf underside is paler green, often with a coating of fine brown hairs that give it a rusty appearance. The leaves are thick and leathery. Nothing says Southern like yards and yards of magnolia garlands.
I could not wait to get the garlands up and out of the way. Here’s a peek:
Ribbons and lights will adorn the garlands really soon.
I will start decorating this weekend, but you will not see photos until after Thanksgiving. I cannot wait to pull my things from the 3rd floor. I always like to open each bin. It’s like opening presents on Christmas morning. Well? Almost. LOL!
When do you start your Christmas decorating?
Magnolia garlands, y’all!
