Parlor Mantle {Fall 2012}

With the changing seasons, my parlor mantle is constantly tweaked and changed. I adore seasonal decor, and the mantle is always the perfect place to share my love of decorating.

The Halloween mantle came down, and a few tweaks were made to transform the mantle into a November Fall one. I can hardly wait to put out Christmas but until Thanksgiving week, this will greet my frequent visitors and guests.

On the bottom mantle, I decided to keep my large concrete clam shell filled with my collection of turtle shells. Two bronze, “sassy” pheasants stacked on vintage books surround the shell.

On the top mantle shelf, I kept my arrangements custom-made by me years ago. Silver compotes hold two white ceramic pumpkins and a collection of gold gilded acorns. Vintage apothecary bottles, one filled with pheasants, and vintage books complete the vignette.

At the base of the mantle, is Tommy Turkey, a large concrete turkey that has been in my family for years.

I think the mantle is perfect for the few weeks left in November.
