Decking the Halls, the Bar {Christmas 2012}

I love having a bar area in the kitchen. This area allows guests to mix their own cocktails. The bar is stocked and ready for several Christmas soirees in the coming week.

A silver tray holds various bottles of alcohol--- gin, jack, scotch, vodka. Pewter stoppers and pourers dress up the top of each bottle. A julep cup holds metal stirrers and red & white striped straws.

Cranberry juice is poured from a Vagabond House acorn motif carafe.

An alligator bottle opener rests on the tray.

A holiday cocktail books offers guests many recipes for delicious cocktails.

Cocktail napkins, Merry Christmas, Y’all, are housed in a beautiful pewter holder by Beatriz Ball. A pewter acorn keeps them in place.

A faux bois pewter ice bucket holds crushed ice, and an antler-handled ice scoop rests atop the bucket.

A marble tray makes cutting limes/lemons easier. An antler-handled cutting knife is used for cutting. It is both practical and beautiful.

Are you ready for a cocktail?

Cheers! I love the metal “cheers” hanger given to me by BFF Mark years ago as a host gift. Thoughtful host gifts are always appreciated.

  2. Hello Ron-
    This is an excellent idea. I need to set up my mini bar and you've reminded me to do it! I need a cutting board that's a little more attractive like yours. I also need to get some limes! My son will be visiting and loves to make drinks! You have some very nice barware. Looks like you are ready for the seasonal socializing!
