The Gulf. {Orange Beach}

After a suggestion from good friend Ballou, the family decided to venture to nearby Orange Beach to dine at a newish restaurant, The Gulf.

The Gulf is just a little beach bar with an amazing view, serving thoughtful food inspired by the Gulf of Mexico. The building is made from 4 repurposed shipping containers and offers outdoor seating with a great view of the Gulf of Mexico. The restaurant opened in late 2012 and is owned by Shaul Zislin and Johnny Fisher who logged in time at New Orleans own House of Blues and seven years at fave LuLu’s.

The Gulf is open for lunch and dinner.

Patrons order from a limited menu (see below) displayed on a large chalkboard and then choose from an array of seating options. A well-stocked bar on the premises serves beers and alcohols.

I did not take food pics, but I did fall in love with the grouper sandwich. The sandwich was delicious.

Appetizers of hummus and pita chips were also scrumptious as well as the hand cut fries.

The top shelf Patron margarita was perfect! Cheers!

I know that J and I will be back. The Gulf is a great addition to the Alabama Gulf Coast.

  4. I can't believe I haven't been here yet. I've heard many good things about it. I'll probably wait until all you tourists go home, then I'll have it to myself!!!

  5. All of your beach/vacation pics look so great! Makes me look forward to our trip next month. I've never been to Orange Beach before, but have been to Gulf Shores. It's a beautiful beach! I remember the prettiest beach and water was at Longboat Key in FL. I believe it is near Perdido Key where y'all went. Y'all really got to stay at a lot of different locations on this trip. Lucky ducks!
