It’s the Fall Dining Room, y’all {Fall 2013}

The dining room is ready for a Thanksgiving feast. Well? We always visit my mom and ‘em, so the dining room is simply for show at this time of year.

The table features my large oyster shell bowl holding white ceramic pumpkins, oyster shell spheres, Fall leaves, antlers, and acorns.

On the buffet, a mercury glass pumpkin rests on a tray complete with holiday libations.

The French baker’s shelves hold more Autumnal finery including the Alison Evan clam shell filled with leaves and pumpkins as well as white coral. I like a touch of the Southern shores mixed with the joys of my holiday.

“Tom the turkey”, a purchase made a long time ago from Thibodaux’s The Moss Picker (ain’t dere no more) visits every November. Where Tom lands, I will never know.

It’s not much, but the dining room is set and ready for the month of November.

  2. Everything looks great Ron. The bog oyster shell bowl looks great with the pumpkins In It. I'm in the same boat- we go away for Thanksgiving so my table is decorated for looks only.

  7. Aren't you the lucky one to be a guest for Thanksgiving! I have never seen oyster shells used in decoration. It must be all about our geographic location. Those white pumpkins add a special touch, and Mr. Tom Turkey appears to be presiding over everything!

  9. It's beautiful Ron. Of course I love the oyster spheres.

    By the way, I got my copy of the Southerner's Handbook...I love it! It is written so well and funny. I LOVED that I learned something my husband did not know. He went to Ole Miss and didn't know how or why the game between Ole Miss and Mississippi State was call the Egg Bowl. I rattled it off like I knew!
