The Weekend That Was {May 10-11}

Friday night, J & I finally dined at a new, popular pizza joint, Pizza Domenica. It is close to home, and it was delicious.

We started off with a couple cocktails, an app, and devoured a delicious pizza {more later}.

As we were leaving the heavens opened, and Mother Nature drenched us with rain. It rained and rained and rained. There was no flooding at our abode, but there was some in and around the City.

On Saturday, we ran a couple errands. I dropped the Abode beach tote give away off at Abode for the winner, Renee Culotta to pick up.

We dined at a Metairie fave, Martin’s Wine Cellar and visited one of our favorite spots, American Aquatic Gardens.

I purchased another white crane to balance the look of the pond.

We also visited Harold’s Nursery where we picked up some bamboo sticks to secure our tomato plants.

Our goldfish are doing so well, and I must say I am proud that all look happy and are alive.

Yesterday, we drove an hour down to Thibodaux to take mom to brunch at the Country Club’s Grady V’s. It was actually much better than I had expected. I am not a buffet lover, but it was good.

  1. Unfortunately I caught a spring cold and my weekend was pretty much a blur. We are expecting rain today which is welcome. Are the white cranes to scare off real birds from stopping in and eating your fish? I know someone who has a large pond and cranes would come in and eat their fish! Looks like you had a nice weekend and Mother's Day visit with Honey (your mom?)

  3. Another fabulous weekend, minus the rain! I still need to find a crane for our pond. Right now the plants and fishing line are doing their job of protecting them now that the netting is off.

  4. At least it was pretty for Mother's Day. I'm not a fan of buffets either because it's more food than I would ever eat for the big price they charge. But, it sounds like it was a nice place to dine. Glad that you had a nice weekend.

  7. Looks like you had a great Mother's Day weekend. Your mom is so pretty and I imagine just as sweet. Oh, I wish we had a garden center like that here. I'd really love to find one with pretty garden ornaments and plants. Love the white cranes.
