Let's Do Lunch

Have I told you how much I love summer? Can you tell?
One of the things that I love most about summer is being able to "do lunch". I mean a real lunch like adults should be able to. You know, one served with a cocktail or two and longer than 20 minutes.

This week, my work "girlfriends" {Lindsey & Paige} and I caught up over lunch at New Orleans' famous Commander's Palace. You can't beat the .25 martinis (limit 3). LOL!

We were even seated as requested in my favorite garden room on the second floor. It looks as though you are eating in a tree house. The view of the majestic oaks is breathtaking.

It was such fun catching up gossiping with my girls.

If you have not lunched at Commander's Palace, put it on your list today.

Lunch at Commander's, y'all!

  1. I love Commander's but have never been there for lunch when they have .25 martinis. I've been there for Mothers Day and for an anniversary dinner. I will definitely have to put this on my list of things to experience in NOLA! Have a great day! Cheers! xoxo

  2. Now that is my kind of place.

  3. I also love to 'do lunch' and try to meet some girlfriends and do that several times a year. A great restaurant and cocktails are a must!

  4. So pretty and classy! Luvs it!

  5. Oh, goodness! It sounds just wonderful! Lunch out is a great treat for me!

  6. On my list! Can't wait to lunch in the treehouse.

  7. Ron, I had to giggle about your "real lunch" comment. The first year I was retired, I went out to lunch at least 3-4 times a week. Most folks don't realize how a teacher's lunch break breaks down. As an elementary teacher I was scheduled for a 30 minute duty free lunch mandated by the state. Well, let's see….I had to get my first graders to the lunch room with tickets, lunches, etc. in hand and to the proper spot, check mailbox, check phone messages, stop in the ladies room, eat lunch, pick up two classes of students and take to recess. Oh, and visit with any parent who stopped you in route. Ha! My typical lunch tended to be an apple on the run. It's all I usually had time for.
So, yes, I can relate to a "real lunch" with adults, and lunch dates are still a big part of my week.
    Enjoy your summer, Ron.

  8. Oh, forgot to say………Love the lunch spot!

  9. Great place and I love the table you were seated at. Isn't it great to have a lunch longer than 20 minutes and then your wolfing down the food. Since I have retired having lunch with friends is wonderful - talking - eating and taking you good old sweet time.

  10. I love to "do lunch" and visit with friends. That is such a great way to stay connected and such an enjoyable time. Love the pics of you three.

  11. What a wonderful place...that 2nd story table is magical.

  12. Wow what a gorgeous spot to dine! I'd definitely want to have that view if I visited. Love the colorful exterior and design of the restaurant. Love the palm plates and even the chairs are unique!

  13. What a beautiful place to eat. New Orleans is on my bucket list and I hope to get there one day. If I do, this will be a place for us to eat.

  14. What a beautiful view! Glad that you have a summer break and can enjoy your lunch. I know when I get a chance to have a lunch with my little one it's exciting. We call it a grown up lunch!

  15. I have to say that some of my favorite PTO events are when we host lunch for the teachers. I wish we could do it everyday because they all need a break. So happy that you and your friends were able to "do lunch" at such a gorgeous location!
