Repp Tie Frames

I have always been a fan of Repp ties. You know, the ones made famous by Brooks Brothers in an array of diagonal stripes and colors.

When I spotted these Two’s Company frames, how could I not make them mine. Swoon! They are perfect in my decor. Preppy goodness!!!

From Gilt.com:

When most style-inclined guys think of a repp tie—aka a “rep” tie—they think of the quintessential preppy accessory, decked out in a diagonal stripe and (probably) hanging from the neck of a clean-cut young man in the halls of some hallowed institution of higher learning. It’s been that way ever since 1920, when Brooks Brothers adopted the regimental and club stripes that traditionally adorned the neckties of the British gentry and signified membership in everything from military battalions and private schools, to athletic teams and drinking societies. Brooks Americanized things by reversing the direction of the stripes, and birthed a trend that became a defining aspect of Ivy style.

  4. I seriously need to remember to go to Brooks Brothers for hubby's ties. He tends to be on the more conservative side and loves stripes. I love those frames as well. Would be perfect for a family picture in his office or own master suite, as that is the only room that I leaned more masculine for his sake.

  5. Can you believe that I just sent a tie exactly like the red one you show to a local charitable thrift. I'm cleaning out closets, and since my husband rarely wears ties these days this is one that went into the give away pile. ;-)
    Love the frames!

  7. Love the frames. My husband has many ties that look like those frames. Wonder if he would miss one or two if I covered a frame! He would kill me!
