Where were you?

Where were you on September 11, 2001?

It is hard to believe it was 13 years ago this morning. I had just started a new job at the Zac Team, J’s real estate office in Atlanta when someone called for us to turn on the TV. We all huddled in the conference room for most of the day and could not believe what we were witnessing. I was glued to all the coverage for days.

never forget

Praying for all those involved and only hope it will never happen again.

We are strong! Praying for PEACE!

  1. Good morning, Ron! Yes, it is hard to believe that the terrorist attacks happened 13 years ago. I was in the teacher's lounge at EDW. The television was on, and we saw the second plane hit the South Tower. Didn't teach much literature that day--everyone was glued to the televisions in the buildings. Praying also for peace in this world and that it never happens again. Have a great day! xoxo

  2. Amen! I was at home on the phone with one of my best friends (who lives here, but also happens to be originally from NY)...she had painters at the house and needed my advice about colors, we both happened to have the TV on in the background, I think we both gasped at exactly the same time and burst into tears upon seeing the plane hit the tower. It still gives me chills just thinking about it. The eerie silence that followed I will remember forever.

  3. We were living in Paris and I watched the first one hit the tower on TV and the second one live as it happened. The next day, our French neighbors anonymously left flowers at our door with a note "God Bless America."

  4. I was working in an architecture firm in Baltimore. I arrived at work, watched it on TV before getting calls that the schools were closing early. I was in horrific traffic trying to get to my kids. Then spent the evening trying to explain to a 4 yr old-now 17- about what was happening. I remember how eerie it was not hearing or seeing airplanes being so close to an airport.

  5. I wrote a post today about where I was - It was a horrible day in history that is just seared in mind. I went to school in Manhattan and have no desire to go back. God bless you and J and all of us- xoDiana

  6. Ron,
This was a day that I think we will all remember exactly what we were doing at the time of this unthinkable tragedy. My husband is a firefighter and it really rang home how the first responders run into danger to help when everyone else is running away. I pray for all those men and women that gave their lives that day to try and help the other innocent victims that were just going about their day. So sad and a perfect reminder of how we must live each day to the fullest.
    Thanks for your sweet post.

  7. Most of my office had our computers tuned into to the financial news since I worked for a brokerage firm at the time. (In NJ not NY). We all saw the first plane hit but at the time just thought it was a small accident. Then we all watched the rest of the horror on live TV and when the second tower came down, our computers froze with that image left on the screen. Apparently, the signal for the live TV stream was sent from NY so we lost all contact to the news at that point. Needless to say, the stock market did not open and our office manager made the decision to close the office. At that point with news of the pentagon and all the unknowns, I think everyone just needed to go home and get out of any office buildings. I remember driving home in a daze and having the feeling the world was ending. I didn't lose any loved ones but I know so many people who lost friends and loved ones. My sister in law went to 14 funerals. A day we will never forget. - Shelley
