Cotton & Oysters

In the lull between New Year’s and Mardi Gras seasons it is always quite hard to decide what to dress up my front doors and central oyster wreath. When picking up the cotton wreaths and garlands from the kitchen, I had a “voila” moment.

The two cotton ball wreaths went up on each door, and the two garlands were wrapped around my oyster shell wreath.

I think they almost look like snow from afar.

MacKenzie plaid ribbons which I used for Christmas tied each to the door. The larger one received the bows that were used on the den mantle.

The cotton will not remain for long, but for now I think it is perfect for the lull in seasons.

Cotton, y’all!

  2. Good morning, Ron! Love the use of the cotton wreaths in between seasons with your "voila" moment! Considering that tomorrow begins the Mardi Gras season, those won't be up long! Have a great day! xoxo

  3. That's such a great idea. I just took down my cotton wreath from above my fireplace and haven't decided where to reuse it. I thought about on the front door, but was afraid of it getting ruined outside. My door is covered under a porch so maybe I will reconsider. I love how yours look.

  4. Picture perfect Ron! I love the greenery in your urns (can't think of the name of them) but I have the same ones in black urns on either side of my front door...hope they last thru the winter.

I really like the cotton wreaths and that plaid ribbon gives it a masculine touch...very nice!
