The Weekend That Was {The In-Laws}

J’s dad and stepmom arrived from Colorado on Friday evening, and it was a whirlwind weekend of eating, drinking, and touring. We could not have ordered more perfect weather.

On Friday night, we all dined at Clancy’s, one of our most fave Uptown restaurants. The food and the service are always top-notch.

Saturday was a rather busy day for us too. We began our day with brunch at Another Broken Egg Cafe on Magazine Street.

We then walked a few blocks to the Irish Channel for the Preservation Resource Center’s Annual Shotgun Home Tour. I shared some of the homes on tour with you yesterday-click HERE.

We stopped for a drink at Rendezvous Tavern on Magazine.

After the home show, we headed to Lakeview to tour my school. Jeff’s stepmom is a former teacher of 34 years and wanted to see the facility and gardens.

While in Lakeview, we dined on the lake at Brisbi’s. The cool breezes off the water made for an enjoyable experience.

We then stopped for photos of the sunset on Lake Pontchartrain.

Sunday morning, we headed to the Quarter for brunch at Muriel’s.

After brunch, we were treated to a walking architectural tour of the French Quarter. If anyone knows me, I detest guided tours, and I hardly paid any attention, but the in-laws, especially Wendy, were impressed.

We headed to Aquatic Gardens nursery and WWL-TV to show Jerry and Wendy J’s office.

We made it home and enjoyed the great breezes on the front porch.

The in-laws return to Colorado tomorrow. It was a great visit with such fantastic folks.

The In-laws, y’all!

  6. Hi Ron! Oh, it sounds like you showed J's parents a wonderful weekend. NOLA always has the best food in the world. Love Muriels too. Have you ever seen the ghosts there? I've looked before when we dined there but they were always hiding! Have a great week.
    Be a sweetie,
