Palm Springs, y'all

I'm back from a worldwind of travels. J & I spent such a wonderful time in Palm Springs with two of his closest college friends {Tim & Camie} from his days at Indiana University.

This was my first time in Palm Springs, and I was really impressed with the throwback type of town. I felt as though I was watching old movies with Bette Davis and Lucille Ball. What a fun era that would have been. I like the sipping martinis part.

Tim (J's BFF) and his partner Rick own two beautiful homes in Palm Springs which are listed on vrbo. Though they currently do not rent the home we stayed in, you can see the house where we passed such a great time.

Their other rental is called Martini Palms. You may still rent this home: click HERE.

We lounged by the pool most of the days as temperatures neared 110 degrees F (but it's a DRY heat).

The back yard was furnished beautifully, and I loved the pop of pink in the Frontgate rafts and umbrellas.

Of course, we did not starve. On day one, we walked to the Riviera Palm Springs Resort. It was breathtaking (literally), and the food and drink were excellent. It was great to catch up with old and new friends. And we chose to dine indoors....LOL!

Happy Hour was spent enjoying a libation at Workshop.

For dinner, the group dined at Tropicale, a restaurant which could have been a throwback to yesteryear.

After dinner, we headed next door to Copa for a local drag show.

Drinks and dancing continue at Hunters.

I loved our morning coffee tawks by the pool. The stories of the three at IU make me chuckle. The three friends pick up like it was just yesterday.

On Day 2, we enjoyed an outdoor brunch at Cheeky's. I adored the Bloody Mary vessels as well as the bacon flight. Yummy!

We again layed poolside for most of the day before heading to Happy Hour at Trio and finished the evening with a great dinner at LuLu.

Nightcaps by the pool were a treat too!

Palm Springs is quite hot in July, but it was great to catch up with "old" friends and meet new friends too. Thanks Tim & Rick for your hospitality, and it was great seeing Camie and meeting Christa too!

Palm Springs, y'all!

  1. Ron,
How fun!! Palm Springs is hot and in the desert out there but that pool I am sure made it all worth it.
Love your comment it is a dry heat lol! Love when it is hot and no humidity! How fun to go to the places where the stars of yesterday hob knobbed with each other. What a great place of history and fun. Glad you had a great time.
