Share Your Style #11

We all hope you will share your style with us this week.

Our host: Barbara from Rosemary Lane, y'all!

Hi everyone and welcome back to another fabulous Share Your Style link party! I am Barbara from the blog 21 Rosemary Lane, and I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be your party host this week. Thank you all so much for joining us again.

Remember when you link up to SYS you are seen on eight blogs!

Wow, we are almost to the beautiful month of May and that means kicking it off with Cinco de Mayo celebrations! So this week I shared with you 3 of my absolute favorite Mexican inspired entrees we enjoy here at 21 Rosemary Lane.

Hope you give one or all a try!

OK, I know you probably hear all the time how difficult it is for a party host to select features, well you know what, it really is a tough job! There was an amazing amount of creativity linked up to last week's party. So without further ado, here are just a few of the links that really caught my eye.

First up is this gorgeous spring bedroom makeover by Shirley of Housepitality Designs. Shirley mixes beautiful soft blues with peach for a lighter brighter warm weather appeal. (And check out that ah-mazing tray ceiling with the stunning chandy!)

Next is an updated dining room from the super adorable blog Sweet 'n Sour Gumballs. I love the elegant simplicity of Amy's room with its lovely farm table and painted Craig's List hutch!

Melissa from Dancing Dog Cabin shared her recipe for peanut butter doggie treats. These must be yummy, just look at the face of longing on her pretty little pooch Dolly. (too cute)

After 2 attempts at trying to find the perfect chair for her mother, or Nana as known to her grandchildren, Mary Beth's Place finally found this pretty French chair and beautifully refurbished it. The third time really is a charm!

And finally since this weekend is the Kentucky Derby, why not whip up a batch of non-alcoholic Mint Juleps for the entire gang. This incredibly refreshing looking drink is from Carrie over at the blog Curly Craft Mom.

If your style was featured this week please grab our button to take with you before you leave!

(Not So) Good Morning, Baltimore.

It is so sad to see how individuals take their angst out these days. It just not make a whole lot of sense to me.

protest baltimore

I do not usually use this platform for political purposes, for I certainly do not consider myself very political at all. But, wrong is wrong.

I do not think I will ever be wise enough to understand how looting, setting fires, and violence can help anything. We are in America, right?

Prayers for Baltimore, y’all!

April Showers

If April showers bring may flowers, we will have some gorgeous blooms this year.

Holy Moly! Take a look at the current radar for Southeast Louisiana:

We also saw heavy rains and winds this past Friday and Saturday. Rain, rain, please go away soon.

Stay safe out there.

Update: It seems as if the worst is over, but I have been seeing photos on social media that others have not fared so well. Supposedly several tornadoes touched down in Southeastern Louisiana including my hometown of Thibodaux.

The last photo is a picture taken of train cars atop the Huey P. Long bridge that were knocked off the tracks due to the wind. WOW!

Here in NOLA, a tornado drill was called here at 10:35. We sat hunkered down in the hall until 11:00 AM. It seems as if the worst has passed us.

Please PRAY for all those affected by the severe storms.

Loftin Oysters

Those who follow and read my blog have noticed my love affair for all things oyster. After reading Fairhope Supply Co. blog recently, I knew I had to add these ceramic oyster pieces to my vast collect of serving and cooking pieces.

made in usa

Loftin Oysters of nearby Destrehan, LA is a ceramic oyster shell and cooking accoutrement useful for the professional or amateur chef like J & I.

The ceramic oyster shells are ideal for chargrilling and cooking oysters and other seafood but can also be used to bake, broil, stuff and smoke.. The ceramic shells are safe and advertised as easy to cook with because the organic clay compounds are designed specifically to withstand high oven temperatures and a direct flame. You can use already shucked oysters or seafood from your local market and your favorite recipes. They clean easily with a mild detergent and are dishwasher safe. I cannot wait to try these out soon as I adore chargrilled oysters.

This recipe looks delicious too---Baked Oysters with Bleu Cheese, Bacon, and Sriracha.

WINNER! WINNER!

I would say that if I had a bucket list attending the Kentucky Derby would be near the top of the list. The Southern, classic nature of the event has always appealed to me.

I was so stoked to win a Rebecca Ray 2015 Kentucky Derby tote from one of my favorite bloggers, Alison at The Polohouse. I have been a fan of Rebecca Ray equestrian-styled designs for a while and hope she adds accessories for men to her line soon. If I can’t be sipping a julep at the Derby, I will be carrying my Derby tote to the pool.

I love the way the package arrived too. Alison had artfully created a monogrammed ribbon and slogan on the package. I love her creativity.

Welcome to Share Your Style #10! This week's host is Debra from Common Ground.

Take it away, Debra!

Hi Everyone, it's Debra from Common Ground
I'm your host this week and I'm so happy you're here
to join in for the fun and inspiration!

Remember, when you link up on one blog,
you are seen on Eight!

I've been busy unpacking boxes from storage this last few weeks. After moving last November, we're still working to get all the boxes over to our house and unloaded. I've been finding a few Small Treasures I'd almost forgotten, and we were able to get our outdoor furniture and goodies in place. I'll be putting together my Potting Bench soon, hopefully. I'd love you to come by Common Ground for a visit!

There are so many great inspirational projects and fresh fun decor going on this time of year. Your Spring posts are just brimming with great ideas and beautiful spaces. Here are a few I loved this last week.

My Front Garden {Spring 2015}

After last week’s rain storms, the plants in the front garden are “smiling” this week.

I adore a green and white display, so I added white begonias to the garden bed this spring. Surrounded by foxtail ferns, Indian hawthorne, Aztec grass, and kettle leaves, the white begonias certainly pop and make a statement.

The hydrangeas are starting to bud also.

Over 50 caladium bulbs were planted in the rear of the garden behind the sugar kettle, but those have not yet sprouted. I’ll share more when that happens.

What is growing in your garden this spring? What is your fave annual?
