And this last week was spent giving
my China Cupboard a Fall Makeover, Here and Here

and now to my update...

I just wanted to let you all know, this will be my last week co-hosting Share Your Style. Nothing dramatic going on, my health is staying stable, but my life is changing, as it has a habit to do. Traveling with my Hubby and some family things are on the horizon, and I know I need to dedicate more time to those things. I'll still be posting, I just can't keep a weekly time schedule. Stepping down frees me up to post when it's easier, and hopefully no pressure. Don't worry about me, you all that have been with me over 6 years know I tell it like it is. I hope you'll still come visit me, and I hope you'll link up all the fun and inspiration with one of the other seven great bloggers who are still participating in Share Your Style. Thanks to the other co-hosts of Share Your Style! And thanks to all my readers, you know how much I love you guys! OK, hard part done...

So now,
Let's get on with the party!

It Ain't Always Pretty

For over two weeks, the master bedroom has looked like this...

A simple ceiling sheet rock crack led to all of this, and the repainting of the entire bedroom. The room is large and the ceilings are very high (over 20 feet), so it ain't an easy job for the contractors.

Scaffolding on wheels made it easier for all involved. The scaffolding was removed today.

I cannot wait for the dust and debris to be gone.

It ain't all pretty, y'all!

Acorn Bottle Stopper {Vagabond House}

During my weekend trip to Indianapolis, we spent time Saturday shopping in the quaint downtown of Carmel, IN. Carmel is a suburb of Indianapolis. The Art District is filled with cool shops, eateries, and art galleries.

There were a couple shops I fell in love with, and one of those is Addendum Gallery located in the chic Carmel City Center.

Addendum carries some of my favorite lines- Nest, Michael Aram, Vagabond House, Match Pewter, Laura Zindel, and a couple Hermes finds.

I walked out with the perfect Acorn Bottle Stopper by Vagabond House. You know the Uptown Acorn loves acorns, the French symbol for prosperity.

I adore Acorns, y'all!

Happy 80th, Aunt Wanda!

J & I traveled to Indianapolis last Thursday to celebrate his Aunt Wanda's 80th birthday. It was my first visit to Indy, and it was a great weekend to celebrate such an awesome person. If you follow Uptown Acorn on facebook and instagram then you know we the great time we had.

On Friday a limousine picked us up at our hotel in downtown Indy, traveled to Fishers (home of her daughter Tracy and son-in-law Craig and their three kids), and surprised Aunt Wanda. She had no idea we had traveled to Indy as all was put together by her daughter Tracy. Aunt Wanda had no idea that Jeff and I as well as Jeff's mom and sister, and her cousin Randy and his wife Barb had also traveled from San Diego.

Aunt Wanda was in tears when our driver Paris opened the limo floor, and we were all in there. Check out her reaction. Priceless!

We traveled back to downtown Indy for an incredible dinner in a private room at St. Elmo's Steakhouse. The private room, our private server, and the food were phenomenal. Besides their fab steaks, they are known for the delicious shrimp cocktail. Yum! The caramel cake was not bad either.

We celebrated a fantastic night of conversation and cocktails.

Happy 80th Aunt Wanda, y'all!
