It Ain't Pretty

I'm used to showing you things I like, but today is not that day. These older homes are often referred to as "money pits", and this one is no exception.

Sitting downstairs today, I heard a loud boom as well as felt vibrations coming from upstairs. It felt to me what I believe an earthquake would feel like. I quickly ran upstairs to this.

Imagine if I was sleeping in the bed. I would have had a heart attack.

Evidently, moisture is getting into the ceiling from the roof (no DUH), and it caused the mess.

So now, J & I are sleeping in the guestroom.

And the maids were here yesterday. Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

It Ain't Pretty, y'all!

  2. Oh no Ron!! No fun at all. Sorry you guys have to deal with that. Brought back memories from a few weeks back when I fell thru the attic ceiling while we were cleaning it out.

  3. Wow! I feel for you, Ron. A couple of weeks ago, at 3 a.m., I heard water dripping. We got up to find water leaking from the a/c unit in the attic. The ceiling was bulging, about to burst. (Apparently, it had been leaking for awhile.) We caught it just in time; but, still had to replace the drywall.

  5. Oh boy- time for a roof inspection and maybe a new roof! Glad it didn't happen while you were in bed! That would certainly be a rude awakening!!
