Must See: {La La Land}

Yesterday, J & I attended the movies at our favorite theatre, The Theatres at Canal Place. We saw and LOVED the recent released, La La Land.

Written and directed by Academy Award® nominee Damien Chazelle, LA LA LAND tells the story of Mia [Emma Stone], an aspiring actress, and Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.

It is a modern movie but certainly feels like yesteryear. The singing, the dancing, and the sets were wonderful. Add this movie to your list.

Two words: Ryan Gosling {enough said} !!!

La La Land, y'all!

  1. Good evening, Ron! I really want to see LA LA LAND, and any other theatre besides the Theatres at Canal Place is out of the question! I love Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone--two of my favs! I'm going to have to find someone to go with me. Have a great evening! Cheers! xoxo

  3. My sister and I LOVED the movie. But we were glad my husband and brother "declined" to come as feeling them roll their eyes would have RUINED the fun. Ryan was so handsome in an approachable way. And Emma...wow what a believable actress.

  6. Happy New Year to you two!

    I would love to see this movie -- but I cannot drag the husband to a theatre. I will probably have to wait till I can find it on Direct TV.

    My son is a film maker, and I can certainly attest to the constant ups and downs of many hopes and dreams. He is about your age, and he is now a studio head in Beijing, China, after many years in Hollywood.
