Remembering September 11...

The minute I wrote the date 9/11 on the board this morning, I was immediately transported back to that very day.

I was living in Atlanta and working at Jeff's real estate office answering phones (NOT in my "office voice), making copies, and performing menial tasks. The TV was on in the conference room, and everyone was huddled around it for most of the day. I remember being sent home early and all I did that day was watch the news. I was glued to the TV in disbelief.

Where were you on September 11, 2001?

Prayers for all affected by the events of 9/11.

Prayers for all affected by Hurricane Irma. She's (was) a monster!

9/11, y'all!

  1. A day that will forever be etched in our minds for sure. We are still hunkering down here. We had some severe storms earlier this spring so know what to expect with the high winds. We have Florida family staying with us.

  2. I was at work in Atlanta near the airport. I remember some of us going outside and how quiet it was with the airport closed...eerie! I'll never forget!

  3. It was a surreal day...this can't be happening was the thought running through my mind. Neither Harvey nor Irma were welcome guests...lots of devastation.

  4. Good afternoon, Ron! I will NEVER forget that day. I was still teaching at E.D.White. It was 2nd period, and it was one of my planning periods. I was in the teacher's lounge having coffee. We always had the tv on, and then, there was a special report showing that the North Tower had been hit by a commercial airline. Those of us in there were thinking, "What just happened?" Then, we watched the second plane hit the South Tower. We, then, knew that this was no accident--the US was under an attack by terrorists. Needless to say, there was no "academic" teaching that day, except in maybe social studies classes. Still praying for the victims of that day, and more recently of Harvey and Irma. Have a great evening! xoxo
