Eating New Orleans {Cavan}

May I suggest Cavan located Uptown on Magazine for an amazing lunch or dinner? J and I met friends on Saturday evening for a lovely dinner at this hip Uptown spot.

A truly Coastal American restaurant, Cavan’s menu is an exploration of the cuisine of the regions along the Eastern Seaboard and the Gulf of Mexico. In these towns, superlative fare crafted from incredibly fresh ingredients melds seamlessly with a casual and welcoming atmosphere. The ambition and hope behind Cavan is to be a world-class, yet truly fun neighborhood restaurant.
Cavan is located in an honestly salvaged mansion that was built in 1883. Most of the original details remain, and we made sure to keep the building’s scars intact to show how the building has aged. While the building may be seen by some as elegant and striking, our atmosphere will always be upbeat, warm, engaging and fun for all. A historic mansion into which we invite everyone who lives in or visits New Orleans.

Making it even better, the chef originated from my hometown of Thibodaux. This young chef, Nathan Richard, is certainly putting his mark on great NOLA cuisine.

Cavan is a beautiful spot. Try it!

Cavan, y'all!

  2. Good morning, Ron! I love Cavan--been there twice! Nathan is so creative with his dishes--I'm so proud of our home-town boy! He has definitely left his stamp on the cuisine at Cavan! I haven't been there for brunch, but I will the next time I go to NOLA. Glad you enjoyed it! Have a great day! xoxo
