Although the scale and shape of the objects differ they share a common colour theme and structure (in the intricacy of the nests and seafans) which provides a pleasing unity. Their subtlety also allows the flanking cranes to shine. For me, number one is too symmetrical and bulky and number three lacks balance and cohesion.
