I LOVED it! I used to take Jazz when I was a teenager and didn't stop until I was 22! So, of course any dance movie was a hit with me. I didn't know they made a broadway show out of it.Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16938178631385143773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2637229652986825254.post-84578669458714128982013-02-27T18:21:34.731-06:002013-02-27T18:21:34.731-06:00No "Flash Dance the Musical" around this...No "Flash Dance the Musical" around this part of the country (SE Wisconsin) yet, I hope it will show up eventually -- we always get things last here, it seems. I love the movie - the music was fabulous, of course, but the story - Alex was such an inspiring character for me. The cameo appearance by Lilia Skalla, it broke my heart when Alex discovered she was dead. I've seen the movie several times here at home, and I cry and cry every time over that event. Getting mushy in my old age, I guess :) Jennifer Beals continues to play iconic roles. She has only a token appearance in "Queen to Play", a French language movie with English subtitles, but She is there in spirit throughout the entire movie. You don't have to be a chess fan to appreciate the film, either. It's the same theme - a person (in both movies, a woman) - who is inspired to reach out for "SOMETHING," and in the process of doing so learns what it means to truly live outside of one's expected confines. Thanks for the reminder :)Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16575870809633911343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2637229652986825254.post-21131250893240589622013-02-27T09:27:57.541-06:002013-02-27T09:27:57.541-06:00Thanks for the "critique." Can't wait to read your review of Meaux Bar. Steve, Natalie, and Matthew ate there when they went to a concert that I chose not to attend. They loved it! :)<br />Gingerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06740535322916630373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2637229652986825254.post-53087809392642115812013-02-27T07:59:40.188-06:002013-02-27T07:59:40.188-06:00Oh fun!
