From our City to Yours {Star Struck and Hotel Hop}

One thing J and I love to do is being able to walk from our home to brunch on Saturday or Sunday. One of our most favorite destinations in La Petite Grocery. We usually dine at the bar feasting on the delicious LPG cheeseburger and fries and drinking a couple bloody Marys. This past Saturday there was a star sighting at LPG, and it was none other than Gwyneth Paltrow. It looks like she was in town for a wedding. J and I stalked her instagram stories. That is where we found these.....

I know she and her hubby had a grand time in our great City.

After lunch, we ubered to the Quarter for our annual "hotel hop" where we tour some of the lobbies of the hotels and have a drink or two along the way. Our favorite hotels are The Windsor Court, the Ritz-Carlton, and The Roosevelt. The lobbies are absolutely spectacular. We were also in awe of the gingerbread streetcar at the Ritz. I adore Hoda pictured in one of the windows of famous New Orleanians.

It was a fun day and a great way to celebrate the holiday season.

New York City: Eats

J and I headed to New York City early Friday morning for our annual visit. The city of New York is magical at this time of year. If you have not been to NYC between Christmas and New Year's, you must add this trip to your own bucket list.

We tend to dine at our favorites. At 50, we are pretty set in our ways and like to dine at our tried and true. We tend to be the same way in most cities we visit over and over again.

The Polo Bar: click HERE
This is my most favorite restaurant for sure. Reservations are very hard to secure, so you must attempt at least one month out from your expected visit.

Amaranth: click HERE
Another of our NYC faves. It was fun to share our hot spot with friends who were also visiting from New Orleans.

BG Restaurant: click HERE
This was a new one for us at Bergdorf Goodman, and it will be added to our NYC list for many years. Not only is the restaurant swanky, yet classic, the home accessories found on this floor cannot be beat.

Auden Bistro at the Ritz: click HERE
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton overlooking Central Park, so this was a great place to do brunch or have a cocktail or two.
