Must See TV {CLAWS}

One of my favorite TV shows is CLAWS. If you are not watching, you must catch up on this dark yet humorous series.

Claws is a midnight-dark, wickedly funny meditation on female badness set in a South Florida nail salon. At the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon in Central Florida, five diverse, hardworking manicurists try to make ends meet in a staid economy while managing perilous personal lives awash in drama. Amidst all the silk wraps, pedicures and polish treatments, salon owner Desna, who lives with and cares for her mentally ill twin brother, leads a staff that includes best friend Jennifer, now sober and raising two kids from a previous relationship; enigmatic Ann, who provides security for the salon; mild-mannered preppy and ex-convict Polly; and Virginia, who becomes easily bored and impatient with her job. Also hanging around the salon are shady redneck Roller; ambulance coach Bryce, Jennifer's husband who is also newly sober; and Uncle Daddy, a dangerous, deeply Catholic and actively bisexual crime boss.

Don't mess with Desna!

CLAWS airs on Sunday nights on TNT. CLAWS is in its second season and has only gotten better.

Guilty Pleasures {TV}

BRAVO is keeping me busy for sure. With summer approaching, I'll be addicted to all things BRAVO.

I am loving Sweet Home Oklahoma. Pumps is a riot. The glove!!!!! Have you seen it? It airs on Monday nights.
Deep in the Bible belt, amid cattle, tornadoes and pump jacks, Jennifer Welch, Josh Welch, Lee Murphy, and Angie “Pumps” Sullivan proudly embrace—but unabashedly stand out from—their idyllic hometown. No feelings are spared when it comes to approaching burning issues, amongst themselves or with the world at large. Through their characteristic off-kilter perspective, they find humor confronting the white-picket-fence-meets-reality facts of life. Challenging the conventions of conservative society and showing an alternative, outrageous side to the tony enclave of Nichols Hills, their unique friendships hilariously reveal that the daily triumphs and struggles of small-city life are more wild, fun and memorable than meets the eye.

I am already stoked for the return of Southern Charm on Monday nights as well as Real Housewives of New York City, one of my favorites. "Money can't buy you class."

I am also looking forward to Southern Charm: Savannah premiering in May.

What are your TV guilty pleasures?

BRAVO pleasures, y'all!

GCB.....Must-see TV

After some persuading from neighbor Shane and BFF Mawwwty, I have finally “caved in”. I am addicted to yet another TV show, GCB-Good Christian *!#$@!# or Belles. Watching episodes 1 & 2 On Demand today, I have quickly added GCB to my DVR list of must-see TV.
GCB is an American comedy-drama television series starring Kristen Chenoweth and Annie Potts amongst others. It airs on Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. central time.

“The series follows Amanda Vaughn (Leslie Bibb), former high-school "Queen Bitch," a recently widowed mother of two, who returns to her hometown of Highland Park, Texas, an enclave of Dallas. Formerly rich, Amanda lost everything when her husband was exposed as stealing billions of dollars from investors and died in a car crash with his mistress. She meets the former schoolmates she used to mock: Carlene Cockburn (Kristin Chenoweth), the new "Queen Bitch"; Sharon Peacham (Jennifer Aspen), who was beautiful in high school and is now heavy and insecure and does the bulk of Carlene's bidding; glamorous gossip queen Cricket Caruth-Reilly (Miriam Shor), whose husband, Blake (Mark Deklin), is gay; and Heather Cruz (Marisol Nichols), a powerful Dallas real-estate agent.
Amanda and her teenage children move in with her 50-something mother Gigi Stopper (Annie Potts), who tries to influence Amanda's parenting and style choices, and gives her advice about strategic maneuvering among these women. While Amanda has grown considerably since high school and wants to move on with her life, Carlene and the others still resent Amanda. They don't believe she's changed and are out to drive her away. ’

I hear GCB has ruffled some feathers, for I think GCB hits close to “home” to many. I don’t really get into the politics of TV, but I just love the message of this new, fresh show. Some people need to look in the mirror and be less judgmental.

Watch GCB on Sunday nights, y’all!
