The Acorn Cottage {Bath Wallpaper Install}

Today was a busy day at The Acorn Cottage. The wallpaper was installed in the large bath, drapes were installed in the sunroom, living room, and bath, and painters were here putting another coat of paint on the doors and shutters.
I was so happy to finally have the large bath wallpaper installed early this morning, and I love it.

The palm fronds are graphic and very Southern.

There has been lots of progress in just a few days. Stay tuned....

Wallpaper install, y'all!

The Acorn Cottage {Bathroom Grout and Baseboards}

The bathrooms over at the Acorn Cottage are coming along, so I am happy to share some progress with you today.

In the larger bathroom, the tiles have been grouted, and the ceramic baseboards have been placed. There will be white grout for the baseboards.

The tiling has also begun in the smaller bath. 

Keep on, keeping on for sure!

The Acorn Cottage {Bathroom Demolition}

I love seeing progress. The demolition of the bathrooms began bright and early this morning.

I also met with our electrician who removed current light fixtures in preparation for the addition of more fixtures and outlets.

The Acorn Cottage {Bathrooms Reno}

One last look at these bathrooms because the demolition of them begins tomorrow. Do you think an update is needed? 

This photo best sums up the look I want in each - white subway tile, black and white flooring, black accents. I adore this fresh, clean look.

And the front (decorative and privacy) fence is complete.

Bathroom Renos, y'all!

The Acorn Cottage {Tile}

Earlier today, J and I spent a little time looking for tile for the two baths and the kitchen back splash. 

As I mentioned earlier, both baths are getting a complete overhaul from top to bottom. Both look like they have not been touched since the 60s/70s. It is past time for a reno.

Here's how the baths look at this moment:

I am partial to the look of a timeless bath, so I am going for subway tiles on the walls and showers and the penny-style tile for the floors. Both baths will be in the same color scheme but will feature different penny tiles as well as accents. The look I am going for is similar to these.

For the kitchen back splash. I cannot get my mind off this one I found today. Stunning!

I cannot wait for Tuesday, June 12, and the day the demolition begins. I hope you will follow along.
