Back to WORK!

 After working from home since March 13, 2020, J returned to his office at WWL-TV today. This desk looks quite lonely in the sunroom after being used daily since March 16, 2020. Working towards normalcy is a good thing.

The New Desk {After}

I showed you the "before" photos of our new antique desk a couple weeks ago, and this week I'll show you the "after" photos. Last week, I finally got around to styling the desk. J is using the desk in the Nest as his home office.

The rear wall of the top section is covered in a faux bois paper. It certainly cleans up the piece, and it adds a modern, yet classic feel.

Accessories fill the shelving unit. I love using vintage leather bound books and of course sea shells.

A trophy cup is used for pens and pencils, and an Alexa Pulitzer King Gator mousepad helps with functionality.

A ghost chair fits perfectly with its timeless feel.

A New Desk {Before}

J has been searching for a new desk for his "home office", and we found the perfect choice at DOP Antiques. My only requirement was to find an antique to fit the style of "The Nest", one of the upstair guestrooms.

Once we spotted this desk/library combo, we were sold. I love the marriage of the simple, wooden desk with the library. The details of the desk are amazing. I cannot wait to tackle accessorizing the pieces.

My plan is to cover the back of the library in a faux bois wallpaper and use vintage objects to complete the look. Oh! I also want to add a ghost chair.

I will share the "after" soon.
