Uptown Acorn Travels {Rosemary Beach Inn}

 The summer just keeps rollin' along!

J and I have been back from 30A for a while now, and I'd like to share about our stay at a new place to us, The Rosemary Beach Inn. We have stayed at The Pearl Hotel prior to this stay, but rooms were so expensive this year (over $900/night). We love The Pearl but could not justify the price for what is offered. I'm so glad we discovered the Rosemary Beach Inn. It is located just across the street from The Pearl Hotel and located on the square.

The Rosemary Beach Inn is a small European style luxury hotel, offering 11 well-appointed rooms, including two suites. J & I stayed in Room 301 and could not be happier. Though not large, the room had everything we required for a relaxing stay.

The room featured a king bed with the most comfortable, luxurious linens. The room did have wifi and TV though the internet connection was spotty at best. This was our only negative part of our stay. Our room also included two beach chairs, a table, and umbrella for each day of our stay. There was no rushing to the beach each morning to reserve the chairs. What an asset! Complimentary breakfast at Summer Kitchen was also part of the room rental. Summer Kitchen is located on the bottom floor of the Inn. This too was a perfect amenity and a perfect start to each and every morning.

Though we did not take advantage of the swimming pools and fitness center, the room also includes access to 4 Rosemary Beach community pools and the fitness center.

I would highly recommend The Rosemary Beach Inn when you are staying along 30A.

Uptown Acorn Travels: Rosemary Beach, FL {The Pearl}

 Last week, J and I traveled to one of our favorite spots, 30-A. We have stayed at the Watercolor Inn for years, but this year, we decided to change it up. We stayed at The Pearl at Rosemary Beach. To say we were impressed is an understatement.

At The Pearl Hotel at 63 Main Street, Rosemary Beach®, 32461, the little details are of greatest importance. From the cocktail greeting at check-in and complimentary valet to the hand-delivered, freshly baked treat at bedtime, each moment is thoughtfully curated to feel like it was crafted especially for you.

Framed by a peaked clock tower, pointed turrets, sun-splashed terraces and black-and-white striped awnings, The Pearl Hotel brings timeless luxury and sophistication to a West Indies- style community of cobblestone streets. Just as our name implies, The Pearl is meant to be slowly unpacked and enjoyed, preferably beneath a stunning Gulf Coast sunset with a glass of bubbly in hand.

Located near the ocean in the charming coastal town of South Walton, Florida, off 30A, our Forbes Four-Star and AAA-Four-Diamond hotel has been named one of Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Hotels.

I loved our room #202 which overlooked the green as well as the Gulf. I felt totally spoiled for the week. The room which was renovated in March 2022 was well-appointed. From coffee talking mornings to cocktail drinking evenings, the balcony provided the perfect spot for people watching and sipping.

I am most happy to recommend a stay at The Pearl if you are on 30-A. You will not be disappointed. I also love the complimentary beach chairs and signature black and white umbrellas.

We were also fans of the adults-only pool and the rooftop grill/bar.

Uptown Acorn Travels {Watercolor, Florida}

It's hard to believe that just a week ago, J and I were waking up to the sights and sounds of the beach at the Watercolor Inn along 30A. Watercolor is a favorite destination of ours. From laying on the beach and the adult pool to dining at the restaurants, the Watercolor Inn is a perfect place to do it all.

Overlooking the sugar sands of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, just a short distance from popular attractions including Seaside and Rosemary Beach, you will find WaterColor Inn, a warm family-friendly destination steeped in southern hospitality, history and charm. Our hotel is situated on a stunning 500-acre community, tucked between the Gulf of Mexico and a coastal dune lake framed by a longleaf pine forest. Thoughtfully designed by architect David Rockwell and featuring a gorgeously renovated lobby, the Inn seamlessly marries the laid-back comfort of a classic beach house with the modern perks and indulgences of a luxury boutique hotel.
WaterColor experiences are inspired by our surroundings, from the coastal elegance of the 60 guest rooms and suites to the locally sourced menus and captivating Gulf views at the restaurants. Throughout the beautifully landscaped grounds, pebbled footpaths wind through picturesque parks and gardens, leading the way to a boathouse, tennis courts, spa, shops, restaurants, a fitness centerand a private beach.

Uptown Acorn Travels {Alys Beach}

Next stop: Alys Beach

Though we did not stay there, J and I drove to Alys Beach to tour the community as well as dine at George's, a restaurant recommended by many of our friends. Yum!

George's at Alys Beach: Established in 2008, George's brings regional coastal fare infused with global flavors to the quaint town of Alys Beach, Florida. Chefs craft all of the dishes using locally sourced, organic produce and the freshest seafood available, and present each with a generous helping of love.
The dishes fall into two categories: Behave and Misbehave. The Behave section features organic, spa-inspired dishes, while the Misbehave side touts traditional beach fare like fried seafood baskets and po-boys. The menu is rounded out with a thoughtfully curated wine list and a selection of decadent desserts.
The charming beach cottage provides the perfect backdrop for a casual dinner with friends and family. Dine indoors in the airy, yet cozy dining room, or soak in the beautiful Florida sunshine on the front deck, or screened porches.

Alys Beach: From the moment one views the iconic butteries and towering palms lining the center of our beach town, there is an unrivaled sense of escape. Alys Beach is carefully crafted to celebrate the public realm of streets, parks, pedestrian paths, and great civic buildings in a manner reminiscent of the world’s most beloved seaside towns. In recognition of the strong draw of the sea, our streets orient to the beach, guaranteeing views to the Gulf and cooling sea breezes.
Alys Beach is a groundbreaking community located along the Gulf of Mexico on Florida’s panhandle coast, six miles east of Seaside on Scenic Highway 30A. Alys Beach is a Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) whose architectural vision has its roots in the style of Bermuda architecture and in the courtyards of Antigua, Guatemala, the colonial capital of Central America.

Alys Beach seems much calmer than much of 30A, and I really want to go back to eat at Caliza. You would swear that you could be in Dubai.

Looking forward to... {Watercolor}

J and I are headed to the Watercolor Inn & Resort soon on 30A, and we cannot wait.

It has been years since either of us have visited there, so any recommendations would be appreciated from my readers who frequent 30A.

We are looking forward to some R & R, sipping cocktails, and eating seafood.
