SNOLA (at Night)

When the Mardi Gras lights came on with the 8-10 inches of snow we received last week, it was magical. You certainly do not see this much in the Deep South.

SNOLA 01.21.25

I mean, who would have thought that New Orleans would be blanketed in 8-10" of beautiful, fluffy snowfall? Yesterday, New Orleans received the highest snowfall totals since 1895. Yes, it is a once in a lifetime experience for us.

#sneauxdays

I cannot remember the very last time we have experienced such cold weather for such a prolonged period of time. I don't even know if I've covered any of the plants outside in the past five years or so. I've received so many comments from the neighbors on my choice of sheets to cover the plants. Plaid and animal print..... Yes!!!!!

The end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018 have been very cold by southern Louisiana standards. I am enjoying my second "sneaux day" which is quite rare in New Orleans. Though we did not get much snow, we did get lots of ice. Everyone knows southerners cannot walk or drive on ice.

The poor plants could not weather the hard freezes we have experienced the last couple days.

I have been inside for two whole days watching my Hoda, Kelly & Ryan, KLG & Hoda (again), and marathons of Law & Order. The rest and relaxation is so nice.

How did you spend your #sneauxdays?
