End of Summer {Summer Flag}

 I shared my seashells & chinoserie summer door hanger a few weeks ago, and I was elated when Tom Tom and Company added a custom flag to match.

The bonus included a custom monogram. I was so happy when it arrived and hung it proudly. The matching set is perfect for the summer months.

Welcome Summer! {Summer Door Hanger}

 Hi, y'all!

It's been a while as I have been enjoying my first few days of summer vacation. The end of the school year is always busy, and the first days of vacation are filled with lots of rest and relaxation.

I recently purchased a new summer doorhanger from one of my go-tos for seasonal door hangers, Tom Tom and Company. The newest doorhanger, Seashells & Chinoserie, is a perfect welcome for the months of summer.

TomTom's original "Seashells and Chinoiserie" design is a true favorite for this season.  It can be hung on your coastal home or in town to celebrate the summer season.

The top hole allows you to add your own ribbon or cording for hanging. It is completely outdoor safe, with pigmented outdoor inks, so there is no fading.

It's HOT, y'all

 As I stated in a previous post, I am melting! It is HOT!!! Without any rain lately, the temperatures continue to soar closer to three digits.

What is your thermostat set on during the day? Night?

Ours: Day 72 degrees/ Night 65 degrees (then J raises to 68 degrees).

Happy Summer Solstice...

I'm Melting ...

 I'm not sure it's because I'm getting older, but it seems so much hotter lately.

I know! I know! It's summer in Louisiana, and it is always hot and humid, but it feels so much warmer this summer.

Beautiful Blooms {Hydrangeas}

While in the grocery store the other day, I picked up a couple bunches of white hydrangeas. I love the fluffiness of hydrangeas, and they always last a week or so.

I added the bunch to the vase on the coffee table.

On the front table sits my favorite faux blue hydrangeas. I also love quality fauxs.

Parlor Mantle {Summer}

It's not the official start of summer, but it is the start of my summer. Happy June!

I recently rearranged and added accessories to the mantle inspired by summer.

First things first, a Sea & Dune Beach House candle by Lafco contributes an awesome summery scent to the parlor.

The pewter and shell accessories - squid, nautilus, and crab - were picked up on my trips to Seattle from the Timothy De Clue Collection. I adore them and make such a statement.

The oyster plate is by Alison Evans through Hazelnut on Magazine Street.

I also kept the vintage trophy cups filled with seasonal blue hydrangeas and salal leaves.

Have I stated how much I love summer?

Summer Snoballs

You know that it is the unofficial start of summer when these patriotic-inspired snoballs are hung on the door.

Snoballs are popular around these parts at this time of year due to the fact that it is so hot and so humid. An icy treat is always a treat.

Thanks to Thibodaux artist, Lisa Papa for her talents.

June 1

I do not know about you, but I am loving the start of June. Today, I stayed in all day, watched a Law & Order marathon, and rested on this cloudy day.

I am looking forward to the month of June. I am visiting Scottsdale, AZ and Perdido Key, FL.

What are you doing this June?

One and Done.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! I like the sound of that. One day to geaux and then done for the summer.

Those of you who teach know the joys that come with the last days of school, and the final one is the most exciting.

I had a great school year, but I am ready for the beach and other travels. I just love some R & R.

Bring on summer, y'all!
