See Ya Later, Alligator!

I am lovin' this new alligator tray from Niche Modern Home in Mandeville, LA (just north of Lake Pontchartrain).

I can think of hundreds of uses for it, but for now I am using it to hold a Diptyque candle and box of matches.

The tray is gilded in a gold hue and is a perfect southern accessory.

Scentsational Scoop {Baies by Diptyque}

I have loved the smell of Diptyque candles for a long time. They are expensive, over $60.00 for 6.5 oz, but they last and smell wonderful.

For late spring, I adore the Baies scent. The Baies scent expresses the irresistible freshness of a bouquet of roses, sweetened with black currant leaves.
{Ingredients: Blackcurrant leaves, Blackcurrant buds, Bulgarian roses, Ambergris}

I have visited the Diptyque store on Madison Avenue in New York, and it was like walking into "heaven".

Have you ever tried Diptyque candles? I also love the Cypress scent in the fall.

Springtime Mantel

After the bunnies and eggs were put away, my goal was to set the parlor mantle for its late spring decor.

I do adore vintage trophy cups, so I kept the larger ones on the mantle and filled the top with hydrangea blooms. They work very well with the salal leaves used during Easter. Uptown Acorn at Work! See the work of The Acorn at Wisteria Hill: click HERE.

The Alison Evans oyster plate (purchased recently at Hazelnut) is perfect in the middle surrounded by vintage trophy cups and natural elements such as geodes and shells.

A diptyque candle in Baies scent is the perfect scent and finishing touch.

Sooooooo, this is how the mantle looks now. I'm certain it'll be changing come summer. Come on SUMMER break!!!
