It's Fall Y'all! {Happy Thanksgiving}

 I am currently enjoying time off, much needed time away from "the bank."

I will be celebrating the joys of Thanksgiving with family and friends. I hope that you and yours have lots to be thankful for this holiday season.

I also love Fall in New York. Photos taken by @skaufman4050 .

If You Dare {Halloween: New York Decor}

 I have followed Susan Kaufman, @skaufman450, a New York City photographer on Instagram for a long time. Her photos of the seasonal decor in and around the city are amazing. I know there is lots of talent in New York, and these Halloween/Fall photos prove that talent. Enjoy!

Eating {and Drinking through NYC}

J and I traveled to NYC last weekend for our annual excursion to catch the sights and sounds of the city. We literally ate and drank our way through NYC. I have said it before, and I will say it again, "there is no better place than NYC at Christmas time."

Lunch

Lexington Brass: Sleek-but-casual bistro offering up hearty New American fare & creative cocktails.

Snack/Cocktail

Palette at Bergdorf Goodman: Housed in the basement of Bergdorf Goodman's, Ashley Longshore's art makes a bold statement.

Dinner

The Polo Bar: Handsome American restaurant by designer Ralph Lauren, serving classic dishes, bar bites & drinks. Guests dining were Mark Consuelos, Kelly Ripa, David Muir (ABC News), and Candace Bergen (Yes! Murphy Brown). I am always star struck!

Lunch

Amaranth Restaurant: Mediterranean fare & a European-style social scene in a busy bistro off Madison Avenue.

Dinner

Majorelle: Place for elegant French fare with a Moroccan touch in The Lowell hotel, with a bar & skylit garden.

Drinks

Jacques: Cocktail bar in The Lowell serving high-end drinks & small plates in a Moroccan-accented space.

Brunch

Tavern on the Green: Restored Central Park icon for American fare in an elegant setting with courtyard & garden seating.

New York City: Eats

J and I headed to New York City early Friday morning for our annual visit. The city of New York is magical at this time of year. If you have not been to NYC between Christmas and New Year's, you must add this trip to your own bucket list.

We tend to dine at our favorites. At 50, we are pretty set in our ways and like to dine at our tried and true. We tend to be the same way in most cities we visit over and over again.

The Polo Bar: click HERE
This is my most favorite restaurant for sure. Reservations are very hard to secure, so you must attempt at least one month out from your expected visit.

Amaranth: click HERE
Another of our NYC faves. It was fun to share our hot spot with friends who were also visiting from New Orleans.

BG Restaurant: click HERE
This was a new one for us at Bergdorf Goodman, and it will be added to our NYC list for many years. Not only is the restaurant swanky, yet classic, the home accessories found on this floor cannot be beat.

Auden Bistro at the Ritz: click HERE
We stayed at the Ritz Carlton overlooking Central Park, so this was a great place to do brunch or have a cocktail or two.
