Fall Break at The Grand Hotel

 My Fall Break is almost over, but it remains one of my favorite weeks of the school year. As usual, J and I headed to our favorite Fall Break destination — The Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama.

The Grand never disappoints. With its beautiful scenery, stunning views, and serene location, it has been a special place for us for years. Mornings start perfectly with coffee by the bay, watching the sun shimmer across the water. Days are spent relaxing by the adult pool, sipping refreshing cocktails and soaking in the calm. Evenings are our favorite — dining and unwinding at Bucky’s, our go-to spot for great food, drinks, and atmosphere.

It’s always bittersweet when it’s time to leave this little slice of paradise. But the memories (and the relaxation) always carry us through until next time.

Stay tuned — I’ll be sharing more soon about a new favorite dinner spot, Little Bird in downtown Fairhope!

SPOOKTACULAR October {The Grand Hotel, Fall Break}

 It has been a tradition of ours ever since I started at St. Paul's Episcopal to take a trip to the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL.

J & I did exactly what I wanted..... relaxed!!!! Spending our days laying by the adult pool sipping libations, eating in the resort restaurants/bars, and sharing nightcaps made for a perfect Fall holiday.

Here are some of my favorite pics of our stay:

Grand Hotel is on my mind....

Yep! Fall break is over, and I am back to yet another week of school. But I did enjoy my time spent in one of my favorite places, the Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa in Point Clear, AL.

J & I did exactly what I wanted..... relaxed!!!! Spending our days laying by the adult pool sipping libations, eating in the resort restaurants/bars, and sharing nightcaps made for a perfect Fall holiday.

The sunsets over Mobile Bay are outstanding!

A number of readers have asked me to give details about the resort. J and I do not have kids, so we do not do "kid things". Your best bet would be to study the resorts website. When on vacay, J & I do our best to stay away from the kiddos (and their inattentive parents).

Make mine a {Smokin' Oldy Old Fashioned}

If you've been reading The Uptown Acorn, you know my cocktail of choice is always a Ketel One martini with a couple olives, so when we visited the 1847 bar at the Grand Hotel recently this cocktail spoke to me, a Smokin' Oldy Old Fashioned. The craft cocktail was absolutely perfect in every way. J and I craved the cocktail the next night too. Cheers!

The Smokin' Oldy old fashioned is a perfect cocktail for the Fall season and beyond. The choices of old fashioned cocktails is also impressive. Just read the descriptions... mouth watering!

From the Grand Hotel website:
Every great hotel has a great bar to steal away to, and 1847 is ours.  1847 is home to the beverage arts, with Grand Garden-to-glass crafted cocktails, local libations and signature wines by the glass all getting in on the act. The setting of choice for savoring house-made elixirs, quiet conversation, or the easy company of new friends.
