Taco Casserole {Recipe}

One of my favorite go-to recipes is the delicious and easy-to-prepare, taco casserole. I think you will find it easy to prepare and very tasty too.

  The recipe is as follows:
                8 oz. Pillsbury crescent rolls
                1 lb. lean ground beef
                1 package taco seasoning mix
                Crushed Dorito chips
                1 cup sour cream
                Taco sauce

Press crescent rolls down in an ungreased casserole dish. I used my Abigail's ceramic fleur de lis cassrole dish. Ain't it all about the presentation? I think so.

Fry ground beef and drain well.

Combine meat with taco seasoning mix and water according to the package directions.

Layer on top of the unbaked crescent rolls in the following order:
1 cup crushed Dorito chips (to cover rolls)
               Meat mixture
               Sour cream
Shredded cheese to taste (2 cups)
               1 cup crushed Dorito chips

Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Add taco sauce as desired after baking.

Tip: You might raise up a corner to check to see if the bottom is lightly browned when you think it is about done. You do not want the crust doughy but you do not want it overdone.

  3. That sounds delicious, Ron. I have used the crushed chips for the base before and baked it that way but I like the idea of a real crust under it. I will try this with the grandkids! Hope you are doing well. xo Diana
