Happy National French Fry Day

There's not much more I love than a hot, crispy French fry. They certainly deserve to be celebrated. Today is National French Fry Day! Eat up!

Everyone has their opinions. Here are my favorite fries:

McDonald's

La Petite Grocery

Chick Fil A

The Gathering Spot {truffle fries}

The crispier the fries, the better!

What are your favorite fries?

I suggest that you go on instagram and follow @princessandthefry. After all, Hoda and Kathie Lee told me to.

Teachers Do Lunch

For 180 days, most of us eat with each other for 20 minutes. 20 minutes includes travel time, correcting misbehaviors, a blessing, and announcements. So it is so nice to meet in the summer and share conversation gossip over lunch and cocktails.

Two hours later, all the worlds problems are solved. LOL!

Congrats {La Petite Grocery}

One of my favorite restaurants in the city of New Orleans is La Petite Grocery located on Magazine Street.

I was so happy recently when La Petite's owner and chef Justin Devillier received the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: South. He is so deserving! The food at La Petite is always so delicious.

Congrats too to their great staff with Martha(fourth from left) being my favorite waitress.

Make your reservations early, for it will be even more impossible to get a table.

James Beard, y'all!

Celebrate! La Petite Grocery style...

What a joy it was Thursday night to celebrate my birthday (early) at one of my favorite restaurants, La Petite Grocery. I received what I requested- a very small group of friends at a favorite local restaurant of mine! Within walking distance from home, La Petite Grocery is a delightful lunch place and an elegant dinner locale. The charming bar is always filled with such a classy group of locals and out-of-towners alike.

Round of drinks, please! Cheers!!!

For my birthday dinner, I started out with the baked blue crab brie and chives served “au gratin”. It is to die for.

I then dined on my absolute favorite hamburger in the whole wide world (and I know hamburgers), the LPG cheeseburger house-made pickles, onion marmalade, arugula, whole grain mustard, aioli  and gruyere served with fries. If you have not tried this burger, you do not know what you are missing. Put this burger on your “to do” list soon.

The local shrimp and grits(shiitake mushrooms, smoked bacon and thyme) are a big hit also.
And finally, I was presented the toffee-chocolate tart, brown butter shortbread crust & coconut cream. Ooooo la la! Of course, there was one lit candle atop. Thanks, G!

After another successful birthday dinner with close friends down, it’s off to Ocean Springs to further celebrate turning 44…

Cheers, y’all!
