Tulip & Hydrangea Doorhanger

 It's definitely spring in New Orleans and that means a new doorhanger. Thanks to my contact at Southern Antiques in Laurel, MS and the local Mississippi artist, the newest spring doorhanger is such a warm, welcoming addition and adds the perfect spring touch to the front porch.

Spring has Sprung!

 Spring has definitely sprung here in New Orleans as the oak pollen has been filling the air and the sidewalks. As soon as St. Patrick's Day passed, the bunnies were ready to get outside. Around the front yard, bunnies, eggs, and carrots abound in all of their Eastery glory. The bunny doorhanger and mat also welcome guests to the Acorn Cottage.

I am most looking forward to the upcoming break for some well-deserved time away from school.

Springtime: {Easter Facade}

 Welcome to springtime at the Acorn Cottage! I am not a huge fan of the pastel colors of spring, but I do love to seasonally decorate, so let me take you on a tour of the front garden. Custom, large plaid eggs (NolaBee) grace the entrance along with a concrete bunny.

Baskets of hydrangea, ivy, and geraniums (Perino's) also indicate that spring is upon us.

Another handpainted rabbit (Art by Cynthia Kolls) and metal staked eggs (Phina) sit in the planter on the porch.

I shared my latest doorhanger (Southern Antiques) with you yesterday.

It certainly looks like spring has sprung at the cottage.

Springtime: {Easter Doorhanger}

 I'm loving my newest doorhanger purchased from Southern Antiques in Laurel, MS. The topiary is handpainted and features a blue and white bamboo container. I also love the joy of the spring-colored ribbons. The doorhanger makes a great welcome for Spring and Easter.

Snapdragons are poppin'

 With the Mardi Gras decorations down and put away for another year, the yard is my focus.

The white colored snapdragons have done so well in the gardens this year. They do love cool nights. Paired with purple petunias, the white snapdragons really "pop" in the garden.

It is beginning to look and feel like springtime has arrived in New Orleans.

Happy Spring! {SunPatiens}

 The sunpatiens in the front garden are poppin'. I have always loved a white and green garden, and I am happy to finally have one of my own.

Thanks to Perino's Nursery for the healthy blooms.

Happy Spring!

 The weather has been absolutely beautiful for the start of the spring season. This weekend, the bunnies and eggs graced the front door and gardens.

The cute door hanger and gingham door mat is from Tom Tom and Company.

The large eggs in gingham and plaid were custom made for me by NolaBee Made, a local artist.

I am ready for the Easter season, especially spring break. Bring it on!

Front Porch Sittin'

Since the quarantine of 2020, J and I have been doing plenty of front porch sittin' or should I say sippin'. The view from the front porch into the yard this spring is a beautiful one with plants of green and white. The sights and the smell of the blooming jasmine fills the cool air. It is fun to talk to the neighbors who pass by on their nightly walks. Reconnecting with neighbors (from a distance) is one advantage of the quarantine.
