Guilty Pleasure TV {Fixer Upper}

I remember years ago when all I would watch was HGTV. Fast forward to 2016, and I only watch a couple shows that interest me. I haven't even viewed the Dream Home which has sat on my DVR since January 1.

One show that I never miss on Tuesday evenings is Fixer Upper with Chip & Joanna Gaines. I just adore their farmhouse style, and their witty banter back and forth. You can instantly get a sense that this couple loves each other and loves what they do.

Do you watch?

I adore the "befores" and afters".

I wonder what they do with that reveal large photo of the "before"???

I was excited when J received Austin, TX as one of his markets recently because it is pretty close to Waco where Chip & Joanna reside and have a business, Magnolia Market. I thought I'd be able to travel there  easily, but instead he acquired Knoxville, TN. I will get there some day for sure.

Chip and Joanna Gaines own and operate Magnolia Homes, a remodeling and design business in Waco, Texas, and "Fixer Upper" shows the process by which the couple turn dilapidated but potential-rich houses into showplaces that are helping revitalize whole neighborhoods throughout central Texas. Chip manages the construction and realty side of Magnolia and Joanna is the lead designer. They also act as part-time counselors to clients who can't see a structure's beauty beyond the blemishes. Combined, Chip and Joanna save homes that look hopeless, renovating the imperfect, and revealing them as what they were always intended to be.

If you like old (read: decaying, falling down, long forgotten) homes and the idea of loving one back to life, you need to watch this show.

Fixer Upper: Tuesdays 8:00 P.M. (Central)

I also LOVE the Magnolia blog. If you are not following, you should.

Finally, Fixer Upper is a great show to watch on HGTV. I just hope they are around for a long time.

If you're in the Waco area, please stay at their new Bed & Breakfast and let me know how it was. I just love its design.

HGTV’s Green Home 2012: Serenbe

Serenbe, a sustainable community less than 30 minutes from Atlanta, is this year’s location for HGTV’s Green Home 2012.

While living in Atlanta, I had the opportunity to visit this idealic community. I especially loved the homes, shops, and farm-to-table style restaurants. I especially loved the restaurant, The Farmhouse.
I always enjoy HGTV’s Home Give Aways and often dream about winning one of these new homes filled with such stylish decor and amenities.
Way back in January when I started this blog, I posted about my favorite rooms and accessories in the HGTV Dream House 2012. I did not win:(
Though the front facade above is not my favorite design style, I do appreciate many of the rooms and details in this year’s Green Home.
Grab your coffee and sip with me as you tour some of my favorite things in the Green Home:

HGTV Dream Home 2012

At the start of every new year, I always anticipate (or dream about winning) HGTV's Dream Home. Sitting under my RL cable knit throw with coffee in hand, J & I tuned in today to see this year's offering. Overall, we were not disappointed.
This year's Dream Home is located in beautiful Park City, Utah. This locale is the perfect four seasons adventure---where fishing camp meets ski retreat. Let's just say it ain't your grandma's Grand Isle camp!
This year's Dream Home interiors were again designed by Linda Woodrum. I really appreciate her style and use of many interesting accessories.
Grab your coffee or tea and take a peek at my favorite rooms and/or accessories from this year's home.
I have entered twice already. How about you?
     Enjoy!

Foyer: Love the ikat fabric on the chair and the glass vessel lamp

Great room: Love the houndstooth chairs & ikat framed prints
 Love these chairs!!!
Kitchen: Love the great lighting pendants
Dining Room: Love the glass demijohns on the table and the ikat fabric on chairs
Guest room: Love the blue paint color
Vestibule outside Guest room: Love the carrige-style candle sconces! Simple details make me happy.

Changing room: Just a neat idea!  Neat, tidy, and well-organized.

Laundry room: Great light fixtures. Check out the adoreable doggie bed.
Master bedroom/sitting room: Love the French-inspired chandeliers! I need one or two.
Guest room 2: Love the paisley comforter....very RL!
Outdoor "room": Who wouldn't love this? Love the throw.
 Garage: Chandeliers in a garage....LOVE!!!

I hope you enjoyed this tour of my favorite parts as much as I did. Let me know what YOU think of this year's HGTV Dream Home 2012.
