A Late Summer Mantle

On many blogs in the blogosphere, folks are already decorating their mantles for Fall, but whoa! I am not ready. Here's how my mantle looks today.

The mantle is filled with many of my favorite things --- vintage trophies, leather books, glass cloches, and shells of the sea.

I love the reflection in the mirror too.

The Glass Terrarium {Summer}

I am back from the beach and back to my daily routine which includes sprucing up vignettes around the home.

In the glass terrarium, I added my collection of bleached, white sea stars, oyster shells, and a nautilus. A sea fan makes a delicate back drop. It is always fun to change the collections inside the terrarium from season to season.

The Parlor Mantle {Late April 2016)

On a whim, I recently changed the vignette on the lower mantle. Living in Southern Louisiana, I adore shells and natural elements.

The addition of a sea fan, sponge branches, a clam shell, a geode, and vintage leather-bound books add to the Southern, coastal look that I love and appreciate.

I also added a couple cloches filled with treasures from the sea.

I adore the slightly neutral look of the lower mantle.

The mantle is always easy and fun to change from season to season.
