Lazy, Rainy Southern Living Saturday

What a difference a week makes! From a beautiful FQF Weekend to a Saturday of gray skies and plenty of rain, what shall I do? I know! I am taking to the couch and going through the pages of the May issue of one of my favorite monthly mags, Southern Living.

From the striking cover of a fresh living room of corals, whites, and pinks to 10 Ways to use fresh gulf shrimp, the latest issue is another homerun.
Open this issue and look with me at my favorite features….
Dress up a Summer Table…Designer Tobi Farley shows you how to create a light and airy tablesetting inspired by a classic Southern icon-seersucker

How do I arrange pillows on my sofa? with Phoebe Howard (Get Chic Chateau on line 1.)

Punch Up Your Palette…the Decorating Editor transforms a former porch into a vibrant sunroom with her signature brand of decorating sunshine (Stunning!)

Meet the New Tastemakers… the South’s top young designers show how vibrant color inspires their personal style (I like the styles of Barrie Benson & Lindsey Harper.)

Take Your Garden to New Heights… see how a smart plan transformed an empty lot into a lush oasis

Redesign Your Blooms… turning hydrangeas pink or blue

Summer in the South… 50 new things to see, do, eat, & enjoy (I just might have to try the Cola Gastrique, a new Coke-tail.)

Confidence with Color… an interior designer artfully combines exuberant color and vibrant pattern in a new home

Refuge on the River… a farm in Tidewater, Virginia

Toast to the Derby… a Millionaire Row-worthy menu

The Ultimate Julep Bar… an assortment of flavored syrups

Gulf Shrimp, 10 Ways… getting the tastes of the beach

Southern Living at its finest, y’all!

  2. Ditto, Dotti! I'm in Shreveport for the weekend, but now, I know what is inside the May issue and can't wait to curl up on the sofa and browse through mine. Thanks, Ron! :)
