Parties by Uptown Acorn

These are not birthday parties, but they are parties indeed.

I have always loved to plan and throw soirees for a small gathering of close friends. From Mardi Gras to French Quarter Fest to Fall to Christmas, seasonal parties are always a great excuse to get friends together. Since early on, I have loved collecting ideas and things that make a party so much fun for all my guests. It is hard work but keeping the guest list short and sweet makes for more entertaining moments.

It is Friday and will be sharing this post at Kelly’s Korner blog for her Show Us Your Life series. Click HERE! to check out Kelly’s blog.

I love to fill a room with people that I truly care about. Surround yourself with folks you love.

Set the stage from the entrance with a beautiful door piece to the inside with smells of the season. Candlelight and mood music in the background create an appropriate ambiance.

Set the tone with an amazing door piece…

I prefer a “buffet-style” party as it makes it easier for guests to mix & mingle. The dining room table is usually the centerpiece for the party’s theme. An arrangement of seasonal flowers creates the tone of the soiree.

At least, one signature cocktail per party is a must.

I also like to coordinate printed napkins.

  1. OMG, Ron! I L.O.V.E. this blog! I sure wish I were on your elite guest list!!! ;) Your decorations are the bomb. I have no talent when it comes to decorating, but I am a REALLY good cook. Maybe, I could cater one of your parties--that way I wouldn't be a "tag-a-long," right?!!! Have a great day and weekend! <3
