And all that Jazz…Fest 2013

There’s a line from Trisha Yearwood’s hit country song, “She’s in Love with the Boy”, Splashing through the mud and the muck, and that kinda sums up my experience at Jazz Fest on Saturday. All last week, it rained and rained and rained, so the fairgrounds were filled with mud.

The smell of mud and horse manure are certainly not the most pleasant of aromas. You see, Jazz Fest is held at the fairgrounds where horses are raced and horses “do as horses do”.

Wouldn’t you have loved to trek through here?

The weather made the day much more bearable. We spent a gorgeous weather Saturday which was unseasonably cool and very sunny. It is the first Jazz Fest that I never broke a sweat. Amazing!

Good friends made the day too!

Little Big Town and Fleetwood Mac were the highlights of the day.

Funny story.

I was in a French Quarter shoppe today that specialized in beautiful, original art, and I fell in love lust with an original painting of Jazz Fest. Priced at $5300, J said hell no! We both laughed when the shoppe employee stated that she could give us a great deal. She said that she could sell it to us for $4900. Ha! Ha! Ha! I would have to find a summer job, and we all know that ain’t happening!!!

Here is the piece of art that got us excited.

Jazz Fest, y’all!

  3. Whoa! Look at all that mud! I am sure you had an awesome time anyway! I used to go to the Jazz Fest in Newport RI years ago and it was the best!

  5. Thanks for sharing you wonderful experience. I would love to join the crowd with all those mud splashes. The painting really looks dazzling. Some of my friends would often buy souvenirs in every event they would visit. So that though years may pass by, they could always remember their past memorable experiences.
