Friday Flashback {The Nest Bath}

When we set out to renovate the attic space, J & I had no idea there would be room for a full bath, but there certainly was. I shared with you the Nest bedroom last Friday, so I’d like to share with you the adjoining bath this week.

What made the home so appealing was that each of the three bedrooms had its own bath. I love when you are visiting someone or somewhere and you do not have to share a bathroom. I despise sharing the bath.

The same contractor did the entire addition. I sourced various vendors for tiles, mirrors, sconces, fixtures, and more. I of course put my own design flair in the accessories.

I love white subway tile. The shower was subway tile floor to ceiling. Speaking of the floor, take a look at the vintage-looking hexagonal tiles. The black border in the shower and floor acted as an accent to break up all the white.

A rain shower head was perfect, and the contractor carved out a little niche for shampoos and soaps.

The mirror was an antique find. The contactor transformed it into a medicine cabinet-style mirror. I love the way it turned out. The sconces flanking the mirror were a Restoration Hardware splurge.

The walls of the bath were covered in bead board and painted white.

The monogrammed towels hung from a towel bar from RH, and bird prints in mirrored frames hung above the toilet.

The use of the small space was further accented by built in shelves to hold towels, soaps, and other bath accessories.

  1. That is the cutest bathroom. I love the subway tiles and the beadboard. I don't even have a guest room in my house so of course that means no guest bath either. One day, when the kids have moved out I will have one and look forward to fixing one up.

  6. Gorgeous bathroom, Ron and I am with you about sharing a bathroom. Do you like the rainshower head? We stayed at friends in Fl. last year and they had just redone the guest bath. I didn't like the rain shower head cause I couldn't get iout from under it to get soapy!!! I didn't tell them of course. Just wondering how you like it?
