I Scream, You Scream

We all scream for ice cream! I love this article on Buzzfeed naming the best ice cream in the 50 states and D.C. across our country. Ice cream is as American as baseball, apple pie, and of course Chevrolet.

Ranked best in Louisiana is Creole Creamery located just a couple blocks from my home. I must attest that the red velvet flavor is my favorite.

Here are the 51 amazing local ice cream shops across the country — straight from the Yelp users who’ve spent many summer nights ~screaming~ for this ice cream. Click HERE for the list.

Unbelieveably I have only visited two from this entire list --- Creole Creamery in NOLA and Leopold's in Savannah, GA.

Have you visited the "best" in your state? Do you agree or is there one even better?

I Scream, y'all!

  1. Is this close to magazine st. I know how to get there. I also know how to get to the French quarter. I am so excited we will be in NOLA, the first week of Dec. My first parade, we will be their for the Jingle parade. I plan on checking out all the stores you have mentioned on magazine st. Kris

  2. I live in St. Louis and have been to the one here, but had never heard of the one in my home state of Tennessee or any of the others. What a fun post!

  3. i guess I'll have to put the Creole Creamery on my list. We visited Leopold's on our last trip to Savannah! The line always stretched down the block; but, we got in at a great time, with no wait.

  4. Good morning, Ron! I must admit that ice cream is one of my guilty pleasures, but I've never been to the Creole Creamery. I'm going to have to put it on my list to try when I'm in NOLA! Have a great day! xoxo

  5. I love a good ice cream cone on a hot summer's day/night! We have a local ice cream parlor that made the news- I'm surprised that it wasn't on the top 50 places. It's called Moomers and they have their own small dairy farm where the milk comes from.

  6. Hi Ron, I visited the Creole Creamery in June. I had 2 scoops, cream cheese and chocolate amaretto. When in NOLA I make it a point to take a stroll up Prytania Street for ice cream. The Vanderwende Farm Creamery in DE made the list. Fortunately this creamery is only a few miles from my house. Delicious!
