Giving Thanks for... {My Southern Style}

Today, I placed an order for this, and I just knew it would fit into my Southern style.

Rightly described by some people as a feeling as much as a place, these are the elements of Southern style. From monograms and signature scents to bow ties and team colors, here are ways to be Southern, with style. Gingham, seersucker, and linen may seem like simple fabrics, but think of them as Southern silk. Well suited to the climate, lightweight, and stylish, outfits made from and with these three fabrics fill many a Southern wardrobe such as mine. Also quintessentially Southern are team colors—wear yours with pride. However you dress it up, these elements of Southern style show just how elegant and refined the South can be.

My own Southern style embodies a casual, carefree way of life. I love khaki chinos, a button down white oxford, a navy sportcoat, a patterned belt, and bucs. A casual preppiness has always been a favorite style of mine. Oh, I love me some Gucci loafers too!

I do love a monogram. For the winter season, I love a three letter monogram on my sweater sleeve.

Some shops that I adore when it comes to completing my Southern style wardrobe include:

  • Billy Reid
  • Perlis
  • Sid Mashburn
  • Brooks Brothers
  • J. Crew
  • NOLA Couture

  2. Good evening, Ron! I'm not quite sure what that is, but I'm sure it fits your Southern style--and I so LOVE your style! I'm up late waiting to see who our new President will be, but I'm fading fast. Have a great evening! Cheers! xoxo

  4. You are always dressed like a gentleman, be it casual or a bit dressier. I see too many fellas dressed in gimme caps, beer t-shirts (or NASCAR) and ratty shorts showing less than gorgeous gams with (choke) Crocs. Love your style posts...
