Uptown Acorn Travels {Amelia Island}

Amelia Island has been one of our favorite travel destinations for many years. When J and I lived in Atlanta, we would travel here more often, but we have traveled here a couple times since our move to New Orleans. There is just something about east coast beaches that are so magical. I guess it's the way the palmetto trees and oak trees meet the shore.

We have stayed at the Omni Amelia Island Resort each and every time. It does not get much prettier than the resort. The views are amazing.

Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort is nestled on 1,350 acres at the tip of a barrier island just off the Northeast Florida coast. Enjoy luxurious oceanfront accommodations, world-class resort pools, championship golf, full-service spa, endless dining options and family-friendly activities. If meetings are on your agenda, we offer the largest conference center on the island with versatile meeting space and state-of-the-art technology. It’s the perfect backdrop for your family vacation, romantic getaway, corporate event or destination wedding.
Unparalleled views of the Atlantic Ocean and spacious accommodations are available in all 404 rooms. Relax on the largest multi-tiered pool deck in northeast Florida, featuring an adults-only infinity edge pool, a 10,000-square-foot family-friendly pool, Splash Park water playground for the kids, two hot tubs and oversized fire pits.

Daily, we relaxed on the beach and received great beach service from the traveling golf cart. What an awesome idea!

Restaurants on the resort that we love are the casual Oceanside and Marche' Burette.

With views of the Atlantic Ocean and our multi-tiered poolscape, Oceanside is flip-flop friendly, offering lunch daily and a specialty menu at night. Designed to make the most of pool and beachside dining, our chef focuses on fresh simplicity with a mix of Florida and Caribbean flavors.

From hearty breakfasts to homemade ice creams, Marché Burette is the market/deli of your dreams. Step back in time at this grocery and wine shop featuring gourmet products from French Farm, Savannah Bee Co., Pelican Bay, Peterbrooke Chocolates, Nancy's Candy and more!

We also visited our favorite The Plantation Shop while on the island. Their antique furniture pieces never disappoint.

I love it here. Put this very special place on your travel list.

Amelia Island, y'all!
