I adore {Whimsical Cranes}

The whimsical cranes were actually purchased to scare off live heron that were eating our goldfish in the pond on Perrier Street. We were told that this would do the trick. J and I were quite skeptical, but we have not lost a goldfish since adding these around the pond. The cranes (in heavy plastic) sit upon a metal rod and move up and down and around. I guess the movement wards off most predators. I just love the way they look.

Locally, the cranes were purchased at Aquatic Gardens.

Whimsical Cranes, y'all!

  2. Hi Ron, We have trouble with herons coming to our koi pond. I looked on the website of Aquatic Gardens, but they don't have a search function. We live in Virginia Beach, but I was wondering if you could give me a manufacturers name for them so I can find them locally. Thank you!

  5. GREAT idea and I am glad they work. When we have our live-aboard there were always sea gulls all over the dock when we walked out to the dock. So--the theory was that if we bought some of those (stupid) plastic owls it would scare the gulls off. Let me just say that the the gulls certainly enjoyed using the owls as a perch to sit and poop upon. lol Glad YOURS work.
    Have a great week, Ron. xo Diana
