Sweatin’ to the 80’s…

Introducing “Ronald Simmons”!!!

Yesterday, the teachers at school were charged with dressing in their best 80’s attire. The first person that came to mind was Richard Simmons, the 80's icon of aerobic exercise.

Well, needless to say, I ran with it. I ran to American Apparel and purchased a white tank, short shorts, tube socks, a headband, and wristbands. The wig has had many reincarnations. Then I went to work bedazzling the white tank in glittery stones. The bedazzled tanks were made famous by Richard himself.

The costume was a hit. Even though most of the students did not know who Richard Simmons is, the parents certainly loved it.

I worked the 1 lb. dumbbells.

Isn’t it funny that we, the children of the 80’s, are now dressing in the same clothes that we once donned. Who would have ever thought that the 80’s would be so long ago. WOW!

  3. Wait! No leg warmers?
Richard Simmons is such a kind individual. I loved watching the way he interacted with people who were hurting. A loving soul, indeed.
You could be related! Except that you have better taste! I heard he decorates with stuffed animals! To each their own!
