Saving Our Coast & some fun

I have spent the last two days in one of my favorite places, Grand Isle. I along with 3 other teacher chaperones escorted my 6th grade Earth Science class to the Grand Isle State Park to plant the bitter panicum plants grown in our school’s garden.

The students also toured the Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries Marine Laboratory while on the island.

Of course, they had lots of down time to be kids including playing yard games and swimming in the Gulf. They even experience a marshmallow roast on the beach.

And I had some of this…

Sorry I am so late today, but I am just getting home.

It’s all in helping our coastline.

  6. What a fabulous trip for all involved!! The middle schoolers here used to take an overnight trip down to St. Simon's but sadly overnight trips were cancelled after 911. Such a shame! Hope you have a restful weekend.
