The Acorn Cottage {Before and After: Dining Room}

The dining room is adjacent to the den. Of course, the colors of the den and dining area are very similar with whites, navys, and greens.

The dining area May 2018:

The dining room today:

We decided after we moved in to use a 48' round table which seats 6 adults very comfortable. Four chairs remain around the table for daily use, but others can be pulled up to the table easily. The table we chose for this area is the Miles Redd Round Dining Table for Ballard Designs.
Designer Miles Redd was inspired by a table once owned by 20th century style maker, Babe Paley. "I love pedestal dining tables because you can get so many chairs around them and never have an awkward leg get in the way," Miles explains. The gleaming ebony top with brass banding appears to float on slender, bamboo-style tripod legs accented in brass twine.

The chandelier is new and from Niche Modern Home in Mandeville. The gold tones of the chandelier coordinate well with the brass of the new table. The other furniture and accessories in the room came with us from the Perrier house.

Dining Room, y'all!

  1. Another home run. Love the legs on that 48"table. I have both a 42" and 48", definitely the larger one is more versatile for 6!

  2. Beautiful, Ron! I love the table and that amazing chandelier! I think I have that same rug sitting in a shopping cart on a website somewhere. Nice to see how it looks in a room. Great job - I am sure you are loving it!

  3. The dining room looks amazing and that new table is stunning.

  4. Beautiful dining room, I love your new table and how the chairs contrast against the table. Love how it's not all matchy matchy. I love every single space in your home. Excellent job throughout and thanks for always sharing your home and beautiful ideas...I am inspired!

  5. I love the new look you created here. That’s a great table you chose and I like the chandelier! It’s interesting to me seeing your art work and decorative accents in all their new spots!

  6. Very striking look Ron. You have really transformed this cottage into something spectacular. Love the lighting and the table is gorgeous. xo

  7. Good morning, Ron! Love the new dining room table--so chic and classy, and the chairs make a great contrast. That rug is perfect for the room, too. You and J have done an amazing job maximizing the space and decorating it without it looking cluttered. Have a great day! xoxo
