More love for the Clam Shell

As most of my followers know, I am smitten with anything coastal, of the sea. On Saturday, I was enthused to add to my already vast collection of Alison Evans sea-inspired ceramics. I am so happy to report that Chic Chateau in my hometown of Thibodaux has started carrying Alison Evans ceramics at my suggestion and are selling like hot cakes. I love it when shop owners listen to my suggestions of what consumers will love.

I have eyed the large sea clam shell for some time, and I longed to have the sea clam shell take center stage on my dining room table. I just knew it would be perfect. In fact it was on my long list of Christmas Wish items from J, but I guess it just did not make the cut then. So this past Saturday on a short visit to my hometown to pick up Honey for the weekend, I finally made it mine (In the words of BFF Amanda---squeals with delight).

As I showed you in an earlier post, the large clam shell can be used in a wide variety of ways, so my next decision involves what to do with this mighty mollusk. For now, it will remain empty, but you know I can not leave things alone for a while. What are your thought? suggestions?

  1. Wow! What a gorgeous piece. I love it! You can use that in so many ways....sea related items...the first thing that popped in my mind was moss covered balls (a bit of life and growth against the sea setting). I don't know but whatever you do with it- it will be gorgeous!

Hope you have a great Tuesday-xo Diana

    1. Moss covered balls are always a great idea. I am thinking of driftwood balls or pieces. What'cha think? Have a great day, too!

  2. These blogs are costing me money!!! LOL Michelle has become addicted to these pieces. Chic Chateau visits have become weekly. Keep up the great work on the blog. Heeeeeeey! Cheers!

    1. Open up that wallet and dish her the cash! You sell enough wings to afford some nice things. And you know that when the wife is happy.......
Hope to see you and Belle soon! Thanks.

    2. I'm with you, Ron! Open the wallet, Tommy--Michelle deserves it! ;)

  3. Absolutely gorgeous! I don't know what you are going to do with it for now, but I'm sure it will have something red, white, and blue in it for the Fourth of July as well as seasonal things as we move into the Fall--autumn inspired things and of course, Christmas! :)

  4. Love your new clam shell, Ron! It is beautiful left empty but I know you will have it filled with something wonderful soon.

  5. Awesome! I have a large one that I purchased at the Ballard outlet that lives on my dining room table, too. It's one of my favorite accessories! Visiting from Savvy Southern Style.

  6. Ron, Your new clam shell is stunning! What a great decorative piece to use for Summer...or year 'round.

  7. I love that clam shell! I just took the tour of your home at Minimalist Here. I love it. I live north of Baton Rouge, in the rolling hills of the Felicians and like to try to blend the coastal look into my home as well! I'm your newest follower!

  8. That is one awesome clam shell! I can't believe how stunning it is! I found you through Savvy Southern Style and I'm now following you, I would love for you to follow back. Tx

  9. I love this shell, but WOW! It is uber-expensive!
