The Weekend that Was {April 5 & 6, 2014}

It was another great weekend in the lives of Ron & J.

On Saturday, J & I ate lunch at Slice Pizzeria on Magazine Street.

We sipped Bloody Marys and shared the special, Buffalo chicken pizza. Yum!

After lunch, J & I stopped at the Uptown plant nursery, Urban Roots on Tchoupitoulas Street. It is the time of the year to get vegetable and herb plants.

I set up the new galvanized troughs in the side yard, filled with good soil, and J planted the veggies and herbs.

We also attended my school’s annual gala on Saturday night.

We met friends at the bar at Ralph’s on the Park near City Park.

  1. Good morning, Ron! Looks like you had another full weekend. I did, too. I went to that wedding in Houston that I told you about in your post from yesterday. I'm exhausted today. I feeling a nap sometime this weekend. Have a great day! xoxo

  2. Hi Ron, Just found your blog and so enjoyed my visit. Looks like a great weekend for you and J. The garden center looks amazing. I've been many times to mine in the last 2 weeks and having a great time redesigning the garden after our cold snap here in Texas.
    The gala looked fun too.
    Have a great week.
    Happy Spring!

  3. You and J always have the best weekend plans! Hope you are enjoying some nice Spring weather - it is cold and rainy here :(

  4. Ron, I love your seersucker suit, the bow tie, and the shoes. You hit a homerun:) .....Mary Lee, Aspen, CO

    1. Thanks, Mary Lee! I do not usually hit homeruns (LOL!), so thanks!

  5. Hi Ron! Oh, what a weekend J and you had! The food looks good and I love your garden tub and I hope your veggies produce wonderfully for you. Look at you - you look so handsome in your white suit and love those shoes. J looks handsome too. Y'all just have the best time.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  6. That pizza looks scrumptious. I so miss pizza and bloody mary's (found out I have a tomato allergy:-( I cannot wait to plant new herbs. Hopefully next weekend, if the weather is pretty. You both look amazing dressed for the gala! Very stylish.

  7. That pizza looks delicious and you guys look GREAT all dressed up for the Gala. Ron, you remind me of the Great Gatsby dressed in that gorgeous white!!!!! And, J, of course, looks just dashing! AND don't tell him how good you look surrounded by xo Diana

  8. You two are stylin' ! :) I see that Dos XX in your hand, Ron ~ GMTA! Looks like a wonderful pizza and the Bloody Mary's look divine. Glad you were able to begin planting ~ it was in the 40's here with rain.

  9. Are you ready for the routine of another work week after such a week-end? We've done some planting of onions and potatoes here already and will have to replace the rosemary after our harsher than usual winter. Enjoy your Monday!

  10. I so enjoyed my visit via, Delores from Vignette Designs.
Will enjoy getting to know you much better.
